“We were fortunate to have a wonderfully qualified slate of applicants for these positions,” said Jim Bowers, search committee chairman. “Any would have been excellent in the jobs.”
Both men join the KAOEF after having served on the KA national staff.
“These men have proven their dedication to our mission,” said Larry Wiese, executive director. “Their energy and enthusiasm coupled with their KA experience, makes them highly suited for these new roles and for the vision of the KAOEF.”
The two new positions will initially work jointly on a national level in all areas of development.
“We look forward to achieving the goals of the KAOEF,” said Stewart Harvey. “First and foremost, our mission is to raise funds for the benefit of the Order. We also want to increase involvement through alumni participation.”
Stewart Harvey attended Midwestern State University in Wichita Falls, Texas, where he was a member of Gamma Omega chapter and served as the Number I and III.
After graduation, Harvey joined Andersen Consulting, L.L.P. in Dallas, where he served in various positions including client advocate, account manager, senior consultant and human resources specialist. As account manager for internal software development projects, he was responsible for service delivery and review, contract negotiation and bottom line management.
After five years with Andersen, Harvey made a move into the estate planning field, associating with American Heritage.
From 1995 through 1998, he acted as deputy province commander for Mikell Province and served briefly as the Mikell Province Court of Honor registrar.
In February 2000, Harvey joined the KAOEF as assistant executive director. In April 2001, he moved to the KA national staff as director of chapter development.
Ethan Bush graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in marketing/management in May 2000, from McNeese State University in Lake Charles, La.
He was initiated into Delta Xi chapter in spring of 1997 and served the chapter as Number I and Number II.
Bush joined the Kappa Alpha Order National Administrative Office in May 2000. He served two years as an educational & leadership consultant. He traveled Ammen and Smith provinces the first year and Hamer, Locke, Mikell and Walsh provinces the second year. In 2002, he was promoted to director of fraternity services.
In this position, he assisted in the development of the first Number I Leadership Summit. He also participated in expansion efforts at the University of New Mexico and Florida Gulf Coast University. He also implemented KA’s first nationwide membership needs assessment survey as recommended by the organization audit comissioned by Knight Commander Warren.
“I am extremely excited about working for the KAOEF and with the numerous alumni and donors throughout the Order,” said Ethan Bush.
“In my opinion, the KAOEF’s chief responsibility is to support the Order and its programs. What better way to continue my service to Kappa Alpha Order than by developing and obtaining resources to support programs for alumni and undergraduates across the country.”
