Zeta Lambda’s success is a direct result of the hard work our brothers have done since our founding. At Zeta Lambda, it is understood that we are going to do things right, and the best way possible. We are blessed to have alumni who worked extremely hard during their undergraduate experience to make Zeta Lambda what it is.
Our successes are owed to the fact that our alumni put everything into place, and since then our members have expanded on it. Brothers know what is expected of them, and work in their own way to make things better.
What has given our chapter long-term success is the attitude of the active brothers. It is easy to have short-term success with strong leadership, but once those members leave things can fall apart. We recognize this fact, and are therefore extremely critical when it comes to recruitment of new members.
We want to be sure that the men we are recruiting will add to our chapter, not take away from it. We also work hard to get members involved in one way or another and essentially train them to take over leadership positions in the future.
The most important thing is to give people a chance. Boggy Creek was started because our Number I at the time was willing to trust our Project Outreach Chairman with an idea. Now, Boggy Creek is the cornerstone of our community service efforts.
This semester, we are organizing an enormous festival to benefit MDA. This will cost several thousand dollars and involves the closing off of a public street. Brothers who don’t even hold officer positions are planning this event. This is an important fact because it means that we have brothers, other than officers, who are motivated and willing to work hard to accomplish something.
At Zeta Lambda, the saying “this is the way it has always been done” means excellence.
