Now you can recommend a young man for membership in KA online. Your recommendation form will be submitted to the National Administrative Staff. From there:
- You will receive confirmation via email that your form has been submitted, and you will be copied on the recommendation that is sent to the chapter once processed.
- The form will be forwarded via email to the Number I, Number IV (recruitment chairman), Alumnus Advisor, Province Commander, and Staff; you will be copied as well so you can contact the chapter directly—we encourage you to do so upon receiving this forwarded form.
- The young man will receive a copy of the Recruitment Edition of the KA Journal.
- Please know that the National Administrative Staff will exert every effort to educate each Active Chapter on the proper response procedures when receiving a recommendation from an alumnus and how to follow the necessary steps in acknowledging alumni recommendations according to Kappa Alpha Law.
- While each chapter will be expected to seek out the recommended prospective members in order to investigate their potential to wear the badge of full membership, please know that a recommendation alone does not automatically guarantee a bid. The active chapter alone has the authority to its own membership.
- With that being said, the active chapter should also be able to provide ample reasoning on why a prospective member did not receive a bid upon alumni request if necessary.
- Please remember that certain chapters conduct recruitment mainly in fall, some in spring, and some over the summer. To best accord your recommendation the highest priority, submit your application in the most timely matter. For a suggested recommendation timeframe, please email joinKA@ka-order.org.
